It’s that time of year again! The season is winding down here at Mill Hill Farm Caravan and Camping Park and we’re starting to put away our customer’s caravans for the winter. Here are some top tips for caravan hibernation.

  1. Disconnect the leisure battery and remove gas bottles.

  2. Remove batteries from smoke, CO and CO2 alarms.

  3. Drain all the water from the system to stop it from freezing.

  4. Empty and clean out the cassette toilet with plenty of water.

  5. Clean and remove all food and waste from the Caravan.

  6. Lock fridge door in the breather position to allow airflow but keep it secure during movement.

  7. Invest in some dehumidifying salt or crystals.

  8. Secure all doors, windows and skylights.

  9. Cover your caravan with a breathable, waterproof material to protect it from the weather.
