Earlier this year, following some heavy storms, some of the concrete slabs that protect against the sea and provide a base for a number of Beach Huts collapsed around jan/feb. Along the sea defences to the north of Southwold pier work has been completed to re-fortify the sections that had fallen in, as well as the neighbouring sections. On my recent visit in late july 2025 I was pleasantly surprised to see the Huts are back in their rightful place and the views do not disappoint.
With the skies looking so dramatic and at sunset I was happy to snap more pictures, here are a few.

the skies above Southwold can be fantastic at any time of the year, and the model boating lake, though turbulent in these photos can be like a mirror surface at times.

The biggest draw for tourists are the amazing beaches, but there's more to Southwold than just the sand, well worth a wander around.
