Out and About on the Bus

we had an email today from one of our customers asking if its possible to get to Southwold by bus, so we shared the following with them, it might prove useful for others too if you want a little adventure out to local towns and villages.

There isn’t a direct bus to Southwold from the campsite, but there is a bus service that runs to between Aldeburgh and Halesworth which stops @ Darsham and Darsham train station, and from Halesworth you can get a bus service to Southwold.

Step 1 – Catching the bus from Darsham Village, head out on foot to Darsham Village (aprox 20 minute walk to the church/bus stop) you can then get the 521 or 522 borderbus service that’s heading for Halesworth, not the one heading to Aldeburgh.

Step 2 – Catching the bus from Halesworth, once in Halesworth you can catch either the 99, 99a (first eastern) or the 524 (border bus) to Southwold. The 99 and 99a are more direct routes, but all will get you to and from Southwold/Halesworth.

Hope this helps anyone that wants a little adventure using public transport, the website i used for the bus times are as follows:
