About the event

Red Deers are Ready to Rut!

The rutting season in Suffolk is a spectacular display of nature, where male red deer (stags) engage in fierce battles for dominance and access to females. The season typically begins in late September and peaks in October, with the activity continuing into November. Visitors can witness the intense vocalizations, antler displays, and physical confrontations of the stags. The best times to observe the rut are just after dawn or at dusk when the deer are most active. RSPB Minsmere is a prime location for this natural spectacle, offering a unique opportunity to see the red deer in their natural habitat. 'The Suffolk Coast' has a fascinating piece about it click the link above to read the full story.
